I went to the farmers market this morning and got another half bushel of tomatoes! I got 24 quarts out of my last full bushel but wanted a few more quarts of the diced tomatoes. I’d rather can my own if I can. Why we need 36 quarts of tomatoes and juice is anyone’s guess!

I stopped at 16 quarts this year.

I havent canned in 4 years!! I built my house during covid and didn’t want to moved full quarts. I’m getting ready for the apocalypse.

I ain’t lettin no stinking supply chain shortage get in the way of some good food. If im being honest…it’s a bit overboard but I like being prepared….like my days as a girl scout.

Two years ago a hail storm destroyed my garden right before things were starting to ripen and too late for the plants to recover. I can when I have produce available and always more than I will need to get through the next year.

Question for all you fine folks. Do you keep grown chickens in your house?

No but I have brought them in to treat various problems or if one looks really overheated I will bring her in to cool off on the concrete floor. I basically live in a garage though
