I used to make ginger tumeric tea all the time. Cayenne pepper, tumeric, ginger, fuit,(could be lemons, oranges, peaches, limes), and maple syrup. Simmer for a while, refrigerate, and drink cold. 🤤
Love that!!! Great to get the system cleansed in the morning too!

I’m going to start working on my own concoction for my fueling gels when my training gets longer in duration. If you’re not familiar with gels for endurance races, they are basically corn syrup with flavoring to keep your carbs up during distance races. They are gross and during my longer races, I would be chugging them every 30 minutes. The first thing in would do after a race is brush my teeth because they were coated w sugary crap!

apparently, women of my age, fuel simple carbs differently, so I’m going to do some hacking this weekend to start figuring it out.
There is a virtual conference this weekend im attending with Dr. Stacy Sims. She wrote a book titled ā€œRoar, women are not little menā€. She’s not bashing on guys, but our fueling and exercise physiology is different and I want to get some insight on staying on top of things with supplementation and diet.

Thank goodness. I am very sick of that. Feminism is pervasive in our culture, and the toxic aftermath is that all men are perceived as misogynists just because they are male. šŸ™„
I have literally turned off movies because of the attitude towards men portrayed by the women because it annoys me so much.

Yes! I hate how our culture wants to make men the bad guys or wants to make them look weak. Why! I hate it so much, it's just messed up.

I have to share with the group about how good I feel when I wake up in the mornings now after spending time with you all getting in the extra and the importance of fitness and stretching.

I had plantar fasciitis for 2 years+ and thought I’d developed a hip issue during the first phase of covid because I didn’t travel and sat in my office all day talking with clients and not moving. Since really getting on board with you all as cheerleaders and accountability buddies, things have changed!!!

I really noticed it this morning. I don’t hobble to the bathroom in the middle of the night or dread the first few steps in the morning because my feet hurt. Nor do I feel the deep throbbing in my hip that was once thought to be labrum tear or in my head I needed a hip replacement (because thats just where my head goes).

I try to do real stretching every day to keep my body loose and I came to the realization of how important it is to keep your body ā€œunstuckā€. I’ve always been an athlete but thought I could skip this step. Nope….

my sister started a new job where she sits all day and developed a back issue that the doctors have convinced her the only relief is to do spinal injections and light PT. I feel like they are kind of crippling her by making her afraid to do anything other than walking. I’m not saying she doesn’t have a bit of arthritis and the buzz word of degenerative disc disease, or needs to lose some covid weight but if I didn’t experience what I am feeling now, I never would believe the power of stretching….yoga, and even hula hooping could make a HUGE difference in how you feel. I swear her problem originated by sitting in a damn chair all day. I’m trying to convince her to move but she is terrified that it will make it worse and the doctors have her convinced the only way to recover is through nerve injections.

changing topics…

First day of fall came with a bit of a punch here but tomorrow is suppose to be nice. Get you’re extra today!!! I know I’m going to get mine:) thanks for the motivation everyone!
I needed a hip replacement recently too.
@shawluvsbirds saved me.

I no longer need a hip replacement nor do I even remember how bad it was hurting.

Many libraries have digital copies or possibly audio books you can check out - not sure if this is one of them. I "read" it on audible a couple times.
Yes... Even the digital copies are on hold and I was 29 people down the list.

It's okay Amazon has a real book heading my way now. 🤫

When I was doing a lot of training, I used to cut open dates, remove the pits, replace them with coconut oil, some cinnamon, and put a walnut or pecan on top. Nice wholesome snack.

It's working.

I'm running late this morning so I'll do today's video ASAP.
Like your scale says (I think), it's only a number. I only weighed myself to see where I ranked for power lifting by age and body weight. That wasn't even a great idea, it just made me push myself too hard. Go by how you look and feel. 😁
