Dont we have a fish guy/gal?

Pics
I had to leave my 90 gal. show tank in Mi. Broke my heart but I quickly fell into chickens here and was happy as a lark . Til they were gone. I was going nuts, I had to do something that would keep my mind busy and not be so hard on my body.
It started out buying a vase of chocolate bars for my DH for fathers day. :barnie:gig

what kind of tanks/fish do you keep ? See, medicated food. Thats another new one on me.
I have a 10 gallon betta, a 10 gallon shrimp breeding planted tank, and a 55 gal planted neon tetra, rasbora, corydoras, cherry shrimp tank. I ordered the medicated foods because most treatments will kill or damage live plants. When I pulled my tanks out of the basement after 15 years, i couldn't believe how much the hobby had changed. I chose my fish types specifically for my water since it is relatively soft with low pH.

Have you seen these new filters, lights and heaters ? Its been 12 yrs since I messed w/ fish but things sure have changed. Dont wash your filters or toss them, rinse them in fish water. The lights will blind you and they can change colors and throw air bubbles out . The filter sits in the tank now taking up room, the heaters are not adjustable...
I don't like them. I still use my florescent hood, and whisper hang on filters. Heaters fail and need replacing more often than the light.

I rinse my filters on a regular basis to prolong their use. I just use a spray end to spray them off.

Sorry about your chickens. I'm having a predator problem this year. Losing them is hard.

Another fun hobby is breeding finches, budgies, or canarys. Not to give you any ideas. :)

Im not real happy w/ them either. Lights hurt my eyes. Filter takes up room and I would prefer my heat to be at 80 for the angels. Not, Just in the safe zone.

Thank you. I hope to never see something like that again.
I used to raise birds in my basement in Mi. Found out my son was allergic and he has super sensitive hearing so they had to go.

Predators didnt just take my birds. Oh no, they sat down right there and had an all you can eat feast. There were parts everywhere. 2 coops. One was my seramas and the other my LF including all my favorites I had been trying to get for years like the tolbunt polish and heritage Jub. orphs.
