don't you just hate it when...

I don't drop them often, but I do forget them in my coat pockets a lot during the cold months. Luckily, my hens lay incredibly hard shelled eggs. I've dropped them out of my coat pockets, carried buckets against the pockets they're in, tossed the coat they're in across the back of a chair, etc. and never had one break. *knock on wood*

The first time I let my 5 y.o. daughter collect eggs from the duck house by herself, she slipped in the duck poop after collecting 5 eggs and fell on top of them. She was devastated that she broke the eggs and was crying her eyes out when she came into the house. My husband and I were trying to comfort her, but we were just about dying of laughter because she was covered from head to foot in duck poop and shattered eggs. It was awful and hilarious at the same time. We still laugh with her about it to this day. Poor kid. She was so sad.

I made my first "pocket omelet" a couple weeks ago after reading about it here. Boy what a guilt trip. I promised them I would never waste their precious eggs again.

LOL poor girl. I am afraid i am going to do that one day with my eggs. My run is in one horse pin and the coop is made in the half pin next to it and to get into the coop i have to go through the run and duck under one of the pipe corrals to get into it, so im afraid i am going to slip in some poop while carrying eggs.

I had gone out to feed water and gathered a couple of eggs and put the in my coat...one of the boys came running up to me cuz he wanted to 'rassle...yup...he looked at me and said...want me to scrape it out for the birds...yup...and then wash it knuckel head!

I used to enjoy throwing the no developers to the dogs...but they are all gone now...

I've done the same thing and I hated it. Stuck an egg or two in the pocket of my coat or hoodie only to bend over and have them brake. Not bad enough to lose the egg but insult to injury is that it broke in my pocket.
