Speaking of Jack Russells - I think they're a riot, but I would never own one - I saw a youtube video last night of a female JRT harrassing a rooster. Not sure who was getting the short end of that stick. Looked like a tie.

My dad, who has several Jack Russells, says that the difference in a Jack Russell and a terriorist is that you can reason with the terriorist......

Ain't that the truth. A dear elderly friend of mine has a JRT. I dunno how she does it. That dog would wear me out in half a day. I think he's keeping her alive. If something were to happen to her, no one in his right mind would take that dog!

I our house we calm them imaginary penguins. My cat is too lazy to chase them but the basset and the wienerdog herd them through the livingroom each day. Sounds like a hers of stampeding elephants.

I use a "Beware of Dog" sign on my front door with a picture of a Doberman on it - because I want to scare people. Discourage people from even TRYING my house.

If you come INSIDE my house to get bitten, then both of us will have bigger things to worry about than dog bites (you might be trying to remove that bullet from your skull.....and I might be wondering whether to call the cops or just feed your body to my pet "dinosaurs"

)

However, we are planning on putting the dogs in the front yard while I'm gone to work (instead of in their crates all day long) so I'm going to padlock that gate and put a nice "don't let the dog out no matter what he tells you"
please_dont_let_the_dog.jpg
sign on it since the dogs will actually be accessible when they are outside.
The meter reader and delivery people can actually use the side door/gate that the dogs won't have access to (however, the roosters will be another story....lol)

Alternately you can get one like this:

Here's a good site with lots of options http://www.signswithanattitude.com/caution_signs.html

I love that first one Tala and may have to get one of those!

I'd put out a BEWARE OF ROOSTER sign, but he only goes after the water meter reader and that guy has learned to read the meter and get back in his truck real quick like.

I have a "Beware of Attack Chicken" sign out by the coop

Nope, on that link Tala provided you can create your own sign. The one I'm going to have made and post out front is going to say "Caution! Mean Rooster! 'Nuff said?"

So that's what my dogs are always barking at? I thought they were just stupid.
