Dontcha hate it when....

Our male GSD barked when a blade of grass moved. Our female GSD doesn't bark much at all. Our other dog brody barks to rile up the rest of the house. I swear I hear him giggling when he does it too.

I swear our border collie sees dead people. For about 2 weeks straight, she stared at the same spot in DS's bedroom. Then she just stopped.

Jax is not much of a barker; been hanging around these cats too long. When he barks it's kinda an afterthought. Oh mama and daddy are excited? Maybe I better bark to show I'm excited too.
We've pretty much decided not to get him a babysitter for Friday and take him with us to Texas instead. This oughta be interesting.

Haha! The other day the cats both ran to the living room window, so I knew someone was coming up our road. Our road (drive) is almost 1/2 mile long (used to think it was only 1/4 mile, but DH corrected me), so it always amazes me that the cats hear someone coming from that far.
It was the gas man. He pulled his big noisy truck up to the gate, came into the yard and made all the racket that goes along with filling the propane tank and THEN Jax realized someone was here and started barking.

Jax knew somebody was there. He just wasn't going to waste the energy barking until he saw you notice somebody was there. Then he had to impress you with what a great guardian he is. Mine do that all the time. They do absolutely nothing until they see me outside, then they have to warn me that vicious roadrunner is out there again. Oh, aren't they so brave!!!

We're debating on the "Beware of Dog" signs we bought the other day. Do we post them and risk that our insurance company will cancel us for having a breed known to bite or do we not post them and risk the goofy Fedex man getting bitten as he blissfully walks thru the gate; in which case he would sue us, in which case the insurance company would drop us for being sued.

I've heard to not use the beware of dog signs... because its like admitting you have a dog that bites..(or something like that..)

Yes, Especially late at night when he is looking past me like someone is there and there is nothing. That makes chills go up my spine.

My cats are really good at staring at the walls and meowing when I'm watching a scary movie. I think they live to freak me out! I had one that would attack the wall when I watched scary movies, but not when I watched other movies. What do they know that I don't?

When our GS got old and deaf, she would run to the door and bark when my husband laughed. She though his laugh sounded like someone knocking on the door. One of my older son's first sentences was "ush olly ush". We didn't know what it meant until we were out for a walk and some dogs barked at us, and he said it. We realized that it was "Hush, Molly, Hush".
