I put eggs in those plastic sacks from the grocery store. If it's really cold out, I tuck the whole bag inside my jacket to bring them into the house, then hope I don't slip and fall on my way in. Get them in and put out of reach of cats until I put them away, one cat likes to roll them out of the bag because she apparently likes the noise they make when they hit the floor. She peeks over the edge of the table at the broken egg on the floor then rolls another off.

I have broke several in my coat pockets but once I got just one egg, stuck it in my pocket and forgot all about it. Went all the way to my Dad's, slung my coat over the chair and didn't realize I had an egg in my pocket until I got ready to go home. It was still in one piece! That's something that will only happen once!

I solved the putting eggs in my pocket problem by storing the empty egg cartons with the feed. Then I plop any/all eggs in a carton & carry it to the house. In the event I get busy & forget about the eggs, they are all safely stored in the container next to the feed. It only took one C*R*A*C*K* in the pocket for me to figure this one out.

YES!

I don't do it often. I have a nice egg basket now. It's just I was in a hurry and tired, setting up the poultry maternity ward. I like to grab em as quick as possible, before a hen sees em and decides to go broody.

Yes, I told DH. I was gonna wash his jacket, but I'm super tired now, so I stuck my hand in the pocket to see how icky it feels. Hmmm, not too awful icky. Maybe he can just wear gloves with that coat, or keep his hands outta his pockets.
