Dooped by TSC

It's definitely a Plymouth Barred Rock, I have 2 myself, my avatar is of my BR Rooster and they are quite grey in colour, the females have larger black barring so look more black than grey. Their leg colour is of importance too, Roos have all yellow, hens have a black tinge to them. I would hazard a guess that yours is a hen.

This is my BR Rooster at about 6-7 weeks old. Notice the barring the grey is wider or the same size as the black.

These are my 2 BR hens at about 3-4 weeks. Notice the barring, the black barring is larger than the grey.

And this is why I wait to get chicks once a year when a hatchery delivers to my feed mill , all of your horror stories of not getting what you wanted makes me more patient:)

They must mix them up for fun and our tsc staff were incompetent here too , they actually closed down in Canada

I have certainly had more consistent and accurate results ordering from Cackle or Murray McMurray over the years, than the farm store experience. And, when a mix-up occurs from the hatchery, both have been more than helpful and shipped the right birds when they were notified of an error.
Shopping at the farm stores is a bit different! Those chicks are less expensive, but much more likely to be mislabeled in some way, in my experience. It definitely helps to know ahead of time what chicks of the breeds you are interested in actually look like, rather than believing the signs on the bins. It's also more likely, at least around here, to get straight run chicks rather than pullets. One year I got four cockerels and one pullet out of a 'pullet only' bin!
I have the space and can manage 'suprises', and laugh about it; new folks with limited space and higher expectations can be very disappointed, unfortunately.
