Dormant raspberry canes

I bought 2 dormant rasp berry bushes at the beginning of summer but didn't end up planting them. I did not water them. They were kept in a cool dark basement.

Did I kill them? Or can I put in water/bring out of dormancy and plant?

I think it's worth a try. Worst case scenario they don't grow and you try again. But a lot of time dormant roots are surprisingly hardy. I don't know where you live but I would be concerned about freezing weather if it does start to sprout. Maybe be sure to mulch heavily this year.
