they act like normal poults other than that, flyin up on stuff young males displaying etc....

for signs of respiratory illness:

1/2 cc in breast for 3 consecutive days for adult sized birds.
1/4 cc in breast for 3 consecutive days for bantam sized birds.

for chicks..you can give SQ (skin shots) by pinching up skin at back of neck.

important you describe the symptoms.

ok..you were posting same time I was..

you may have to go with LS-50..

you do not inject into a vein ever..

when giving a muscle shot to the breast, you put the needle in on an angle away from the breast bone..and it only goes in a very tiny bit..just to break the skin and get into the muscle..
it's a good idea to pull the plunger a little and see if you pull blood..if you do..pull out and try another spot near by..
shooting antibiotic into arteries or veins can kill them.

since chicks sometimes don't have much breast muscle, a skin shot can be used.

If the symptoms subside for a week or so after stopping the Tylan and then come right back then you are probably dealing with Infectous Sinusitus. Instead of the tylan next time hit them with LS-50 or Linkomycin-Spectinomycin which is the same just different mfrs. Both are a water soluble powdwer but they are pricey, about 30 dollars to treat 25 gals of water. Hopefully the Tylan will be the cure for it.
