I suspected my pekin had bumblefoot a couple weeks ago, I have been giving him epsom salt soaks and (attempting) to wrap his foot. I have noticed the very top of his leg is swollen and he is still limping on it. He has been doing this for weeks now, and nothing I am doing has been helping. I have purchased some vitamin b complex. Is this the right thing to give him to see if it will help? He still eats and drinks and forages like normal, just with a limp. If I can give him the complex, how much? It’s the liquid. Also is it okay for my second duck to have it as well? I’m a bit of a dummy, but he hasn’t had niacin supplemented since he was a duckling, because I thought he came off of it as he got older considering he free ranges all day and still has feed at night. Any info would be appreciated!

I believe it’s human. But I couldn’t find any pertaining to animals

It doesn’t feel hot. Also, I thought it was a bumble, but my husband said he said the same thing on his other foot and it didn’t look like a bumble. So I feel like I’ve been treating him for the wrong thing this whole time. Do I just put it in his water? He shares with my other duck, is that okay? He gets a gallon of water at night.

It’s been constant for at least 3-4 weeks. He puts weight on it, but he rests a lot and I notice him putting said leg off the ground. He will also still run and flap his wings though and scratch his head with that leg, so it must not bother him too bad. He also sounds like he’s sighing sometimes when putting pressure on it.

It won't hurt the other duck to get some vitamin B but you'll never know how much your limpy duck is actually digesting. They could dump out all the vitamin water and you'd think he drank it. Some people for that reason like to just give the duck the liquid but some people like to add it into the water. If you add it into water it's diluted though. @Miss Lydia is really good with advice on this stuff!

It is a good sign that he does use it a bit though. Have you noticed a difference with epsom salt soaks? Does he look or seem less painful or swollen?

I haven’t noticed a difference. It looks consistently the same. I don’t think he would get close enough to me for it to be effective to give it to him by mouth
