I was recommended to only treat affected birds, but I have 24 and I know that I have seen symptoms from at least half of them. My rooster is having trouble crowing now. My 5 week olds are separated and being treated an amoxicillin type antibiotic in their water(SMZ) I don't have enough for the entire flock for 10 days.
I also Have Tylan 50 liquid-can that be put in water or does it have to be powder? The lady at TSC said it could be either, but I haven't read that anywhere.
I have 9 full grown birds(8 hens and 1 rooster) and 8 ten to twelve week old birds(7 hens and 1 rooster) They all share a coop and water. I don't have the availability to separate anymore. How can I treat all of them without over/under dosing? I just feel like I can't individually dose some and put it in the water for others.
Could I use oregano or anything in the water that would help? I can individually dose them, but I think it will drag it out and it's getting hard to keep track of with this many.
I would love suggestions from experts.
So far I have only put VetRx and ACV in the water, fed them fresh herbs and dosed the really gurgly Brahma with 3/4cc SMZ(from vet) which seems to have improved her.
