10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? I would like to treat the entire flock for five days with Tylan powder. Have the 100 gram. However I don't need to make fifty gallons-does any one know how much (preferably in teaspoon/tablespoon and not grams) to add per gallon of water
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.NA
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use pellated corn cob. Free range all day-in at night. good ventilation. Heat lamp at present #1-to encourage laying and #2-have two month old chicks in there-hatched by broody.

just to clarify-under "anything which may have contributed?" I meant I have introduced no new birds-this hen is not new-she is just the only one showing symptoms.

Found this info on another thread here on BYC. Hope this helps and hope your bird gets better!

""Respiratory distress/swollen sinuses Tylan powder 100 gm Mix 1 1/2 teaspoon powder in 1 gallon water. Mix well.

Tylan 50 injectable, give orally, 1\\2cc to large birds, 1\\4cc to bantams, for 5-7 days & it will clear it up.

Thank you so very much! Weather has been beastly here-hit while this hen was moulting-maybe her resistance was down-am going to treat everyone-high hopes as I have read lots of good reports about good responses to Tylan on this site. Thank you so very much.
