dots on egg shells

My Wyandottes usually had them, one more the the other and they did vary day to day.
If hens are newly laying the speckles may increase with maturity...but they do vary, not to worry.
You will not see the uniformity in backyard eggs that you do in grocery eggs, grocery eggs are inspected and sorted for uniformity.

My production reds get speckles, one more than the other. It is just that it gets a little more of the pigment "applied". If the egg was moving a little slower or just an over active spray of the pigment. The color gets applied as a layer in the egg production process in the bird so it is not a perfect consistent process sometimes. I like the spots plus it helps me to keep track of who is off laying since one always has a lot and one hardly has any.
