Double barring vs barring

A SF barred male can come from a non barred rooster over a barred hen. Or a SF or DF barred rooster over a non barred hen. Or a SF barred rooster over a barred hen.
A SF rooster over a barred hen will produce SF and DF males and barred and non barred females.

Thanks, I always thought double barring was beautiful! I just didn’t understand the genetics. I think I’ve about got down the barring genetics so I was just curious about the double barring.
It is! Females can sometimes almost look double barred. Take my Dominique pullet for example.

Cuckoo is the same gene and works the same way.
Its called barred on slow feathering birds and cuckoo on fast feathering birds.
Seen how there are Multiple allelic mutations found on the sex linked barring allele(at least 3 documented but could be many more) and the fact that slow feathering is also found on Cuckoo Marans and it does not affect the way the adult birds look, this means that Cuckoo Marans might actually carry an allelic mutation as well(Marans have not been genetically sequenced yet to clarify)
