I'm a newbie so i thought i'd double check my gender guesses here.


spiderman, our 10 - 12 wk delaware


batman, 10 - 12 wks, black sex linked

boots, 9 - 11 wks speckled sussex

skittles, 8 - 10 wks, EE

tail feathers of skittles...normal for pullet? Looks like they are going to be really long

Spiderman looks like a cockerel, pointy hackles, big fat legs. Batman looks like a pullet, small head and not as meaty. I'm not sure about Boots but I think Skittles could be a pullet. Good luck!

At the base of the neck, Spiderman has those colored black bars on pointy feathers (sometimes they look see-through). Those are his hackles. Roosters have pointy hackles and hens have round hackles. Good question.

i just took a closer look at him/her and the feathers with the black bars on the neck seem more boxy then pointy or round...does that make sense?

Honestly the only one who looks like a cockerel is Superman. Spiderman looks a little suspicious, but I think a cockerels would have much bigger comb and wattles at 10-12 weeks.

All look like pullets to me, even Spiderman. @ 10-12 weeks old, the comb is too small to be a roo. Girls can have fat legs too
