Double Rubber Egg??!!

I thought it best to leave it up to them to figure out what they need? If they need it, will they eat it?
Yes...but...sometimes pullets don't 'get' how to eat the OS.
I've sprinkled a few pieces on top of the regular feed and also sprinkled some around on the ground to get them to try it.

Plus soaked alfalfa cubes and perennial peanut hay as well as fresh garden treats like tomatoes and zucchini.
Might want to cut out the 'extras' for a time.

You can feed them all starter/grower until the last one starts laying and then I would switch to an all flock feed with a calcium supplement (such as oyster shell) available for the layers.

I've been mixing 16% growers crumbles with 20% naturewise all flock pellets. I have separate dishes with grit and oyster shells. They eat the grit pretty regularly but don't seem too interested in the shells.
Only 2 pullets are laying regularly with another just figuring it out. So far the normal eggs have had nice hard shells. Much harder to crack than store bought eggs.
That double rubber egg threw me for a loop last night. I think it's just a hormonal glitch where she released too many yolks too soon and passed those extra softies after her normal egg earlier in the day.

They don't need to eat many...so if they are eating some it'll probably work out in time.

Agrees.
Not sure what the SG cross is, but might include a high production breed genetics,
which are more likely to have start up glitches.

Does that mesh with what the hatchery you got them from says?

They came from the Rural King out of a bin labeled "sapphire gem". That's all I know. I didn't research or anything. Just bought cute chicks on a whim and now I'm hooked!
