Hey There Friends,

How is everybody on this quite fine evening in August? (Wow, already August!)
So, I decided to make this thread to see what you all do when you receive a double yoke!

If I have a recipe that has three eggs in it, and I crack two eggs open. Both eggs are single yoked. Then I have two eggs! One egg to go... I crack it open and it's a double yoke!

What would you guys do? Separate them? Leave them? I actually leave them and have "four" yolks. Yes... I have many odd theories... But they are my opinions!

So tell me what you do with double yoked eggs. One of my odd theories is: If you separate them something might go wrong. But again... Just my odd opinion!

So fill out your thoughts, here is the place! If you stop by... Please oh please comment!

Sincerely You Hopefully Good Friend,
-The Angry Hen (K).

P.S. I do not think anything can go wrong on a double yoke thread... But just in case all rules apply!

I've never thought about this before. I've gotten some double yolk eggs since my girls started laying, but those were used for fried or scrambled eggs. I haven't had one happen when I was making a recipe. I guess if that scenario happened I'd just keep it in there, as you do. Though I would probably try to choose a smaller egg if I suspected it was a double. All the ones I've had that were double yolks were much larger than others. Prior to my chickens, I'd buy XL or Jumbo eggs from the store if I was making deviled eggs & I was always surprised that more them them weren't double yolkers. I'm wondering though.. I've seen those crazy egg inside a giant egg videos, but has anyone ever had an egg with 3 yolks?
