Today while driving, I saw several double yolk egg selling farmers!
I was wondering, is there a specific thing to feed my hens to make them lay double or multiple yolks???
Help would be awesome!

I haven't heard of anything you can feed your chickens to get them to lay double yolk eggs. I just got my first double yolker last week. It was out of a hen that was over a year old. It was totally a surprise.

Double yolker's isn't associated with what you feed them its just a glitch in the egg laying system causing them to sometimes release 2 yolks instead of one. Sometimes one hen will randomly lay double yolker's, sometimes they will just do it once, as it is a really just a glitch in the system.

Welcome back:)
My layers started with pullet eggs, then laid a few huge double yolkers before settling down to normal eggs.

Oh alright, explains why my new ones just laid double yolkers and stopped.

It's more likely that they have a very large egg business.

We keep 2500 layers here and produce for an organic co-op. We take the largest of the eggs, Jumbos and Super Jumbos, and sell them direct from the farm. Almost all of them are double-yolkers although they are still just a small portion of our total production.

I have a hen that laid a double yolker every other day for about a month. It seems her system is finding a rhythm cuz I haven't had one for about a week now. I looked forward to getting twice the gold in one shell...but glad her system is functioning "normally" now.

UPDATE: She's back to laying double yokers this week! Love it!!
