double yolk question

We broke open a huge egg my brahma laid, to discover it was a doubler yolker!

If it had been fertilized, would the chicks have made it? This may sound like a really dumb question, but I wondered how two developing chicks could ever fit into one egg...even a large one.

There is at least one documented case of a double yolker hatching... with help.... two double yolkers were incubated, only 3 chicks lived.

there is a video on yotube of some one helping hatch a double yolker and they got both chicks out and alive
