who wants to know?
my hen Mable is a 5 month old Australorp that lays alot of double yolkers...when she lays fertile eggs, should i be conserned(sp?) about the double yolk thing?

My Australorp does that too. When we were hatching her eggs we wondered too. There are videos on youtube of people hatching double yolk eggs into two chicks. People on here have done it too. We hatched about 10 of my girls eggs and never had a double so far. You could candle them to see if you have double yolks before you set maybe.

True. It has been done, but it's rare.
We just recently tried with a double yolked duck egg. It was fertile, made it all the way until the end. There is never enough room for the chicks/ducklings to hatch on their own, so they do need help. There is also only 1 air sac for 2 chicks/ducklings. Ours were fully formed, but never absorbed all the yolk sacs. There have been others where the chicks never developed right. It's a risk to try to hatch them, but that is something you have to think about.

I agree. It's very rare to successfully hatch double yokers. When a woman is pregnant with twins her belly expands but a shell can't.
