I have 5 Khaki Campbell hen ducks who are just beginning to lay. There have been 2 extra large/long eggs this past week, and when I cracked them found them both to have double yolks!

How common is this in duck eggs? I'm afraid I don't get too many in my chickens' eggs.

Both these double-yolkers went into our Thanksgiving pumpkin pies, I can't wait to taste them!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Perhaps it was due to the double-yolked duck eggs, but the pumpkin pie was especially delicious! I gave the ducks our thanks & compliments after dinner tonight.

My khaki's laid doubles occasionally for about the first month or so then gradually tapered off to just normal eggs.

I made duck egg pumpkin pies yesterday the they are DELICOUS!!!! My whip cream loving family reluctantly tried them without and admitted they didn't need the creamy stuff to be wonderful. We have decided they are Dumpkin pies.

The store bought pumpkin pie was shared between the dogs and the chickens.
