I'm curious about double-yolked eggs. Does anyone have any info on this? Is this a mistake that happens sometimes? Would it have been twins? lol Is it any particular breed or what?

I just remember a long time ago while over at a friend's house and I remember them saying something about a hen they had that layed double-yolked eggs.

Hens will sometimes lay double yolked eggs.

I've gotten them most frequently from my Red and Black Sex links and Rhode Island Reds.

We have one documented case of a double yolker hatching, with help from a member here on BYC.

You can probably look it up on Youtube, it was there last time I did a search.
