Thank you for your input. Its more a curiosity than an “i need chicks” thing. This will be the first time i am incubating my pullet’s eggs and i know mistakes happen when reproduction comes on line and these girls have just started. The only reason i am going to throw them into the incubator is because i have room. I did not plan on incubating eggs but i was given hatching eggs and there are white layers among them which i would have been planning on purchasing this spring anyway. As i see it, i am potentially getting a head start (if the hatch gives me girls).Thank you for asking.
I sold some half incubated eggs, if you can believe it. Some of those hatched under a crazy broody silkie.
I did not have a good hatch. None of the double yolks hatched. Could be the incubator. I will properly calibrate it before I do another hatch.
After reading about it and thinking about it I would not try if you are wanting baby chicks. The whole processes of zipping makes no sense in a double yolk egg. I doubt it can be done successfully very often
Just my thoughts.
Good luck.
Please keep us posted on these - or give your bf an account and have him do it!Thank you for your input. Its more a curiosity than an “i need chicks” thing. I have decided to set the eggs i have in an incubator based on when they were collected and when i will be around to monitor the hatch. I am going to be out of the country for a couple of weeks so timing was not ideal, i didn’t choose the timing though.
But im teaching my BF to monitor the incubator while im gonesince he will have to put them into lockdown.
You could make your own thread, too, so more people can find it and follow along! That way you can also share candling progress if you so desire, and it'll be easier for you to find and come back to.I will!!!! He will absolutely not create his own account..or he will absolutely not tell me if he does…he is a silent partner…or so he says. LOL
I Have yet to candle any eggs so i’m not sure i have any double yolkers but i just have a “feeling” some may be.

Most phones have an app for notes already installed! I believe Notes is an Apple app, yes, it should be hiding on your phone somewhere. If not, you can download it.Is that on apple ios? I have an iphone and use the reminders to remind me of work schedule.
