My white leghorn just started laying, and two of the six eggs I've gotten were double yolks. I don't know about the other four as I haven't used them. Is this typical?

X2, they are pretty common with new layers, especially commercial types like Leghorns and Sex Links.

I have about 20 new layers out there, the first couple weeks, eggs were laid sporadically and very small, starting last week I am getting so many double yolkers out of these girls I have had to be very careful as I sell hatching eggs and I will not incubate a double yolker, Thankfully I know my older girls eggs well enough to be able to determine the difference but I love getting the doubles and my egg eating customers love it too! :) Enjoy it while you can, pretty soon they will balance out and it wont be as common.
