Double yolks

My white leghorn just started laying, and two of the six eggs I've gotten were double yolks. I don't know about the other four as I haven't used them. Is this typical?

It can be, depending on chicken not breed.

X2, they are pretty common with new layers, especially commercial types like Leghorns and Sex Links.

I have about 20 new layers out there, the first couple weeks, eggs were laid sporadically and very small, starting last week I am getting so many double yolkers out of these girls I have had to be very careful as I sell hatching eggs and I will not incubate a double yolker, Thankfully I know my older girls eggs well enough to be able to determine the difference but I love getting the doubles and my egg eating customers love it too! Enjoy it while you can, pretty soon they will balance out and it wont be as common.

Found another double yolk today!
I'm getting 3 eggs most days, got 5 hens..
soon they will contribute!
