Doug the Jersey Giant Rooster?!

Hmm well as I said all along I want a rooster, but I'm not sure if the jersey giant is a good choice. He's the only JG we have left and he is a monster to the other chickens, as they are all of normal size...I don't want to see the hens barebacked, and am curious if I had a small Roo like a bantam if it would be better? Or am I just being over protective?

I understood that with a bantam to regular sized hens the fertility rate may not be very high and you may/may not be able to get chicks.....
My roo certainly seems fertile-- we have our first set of chicks hatched out and another hen brooding on another clutch....

Ok for real I am so new to this I'm not down with the lingo, and hope I'm not missing the obvious? Hen brooding another clutch? No idea what that means?

Hello,

I am willing to take the giant jersey rooster if you do not want it anymore. Let me know :)

Thanks,
Geremias
