One of my younger doves was attacked by a rat last night. He has a large wound on his neck, it looks like the rat was trying to bite through it. I'm not really sure how to go about treating it? He also has a small injury on his right bottom eyelid. It's really tiny so I'm not very concerned about that compared to his neck. I’ve cared for other injured birds before but I have never cared for a rat bite. I'm putting neosporin on it but I don't know what else to do! He is staying in a cage with a heat lamp for the time being. Anyone have any advice??
