Layer Feed options

I'm about 90days into my clunking with my girls. I've already been through alot of educational feedback from this group, everything from feeding%ges, treats/when & what, calcium/soft shell issues, poop issues, low production issues. Alot of Q&A. Started with 5, I lost 1 to what I expected was a not so healthy/strong bird when I purchased her, but I think she just couldn't handle the heatwave that we had, 103°+days. My other 4🐓🐔 are well and strong, production is up and so is the heat 😵‍💫 Kool water, shade, water, along with feeding them properly and providing treats when applicable.
So my question for this thread is (sorry it took so long)😁 What are some thoughts on mixing 17% crumble layer feed 17524577400921220978060437036917.jpg with say🤔some scratch feed. 17524585561531512624844740991385.jpg About how much would you use in ratio to this 50lbs of feed, or used in a feeder.

IF AT ALL. IS THIS WRONG OR A NO NO. DOES IT MATTER.

I would feed the 17% layer feed free choice. Be sure to provide Oyster Shell free choice, you have a couple of White Leghorns I see. These girls are usually very productive and need their calcium.

The scratch is a treat, so limit that to just a few times a week. About 1 tablespoon per bird.

Mixing scratch with feed will dilute the overall protein/nutritional profile.

Hope that helps!

I'm still dealing with some diarea, but they are drinking alot of water and frozen treats every so often in the week. It's been really hot 😵‍💫for the girls 🐓🐔
I have another thread regarding feed. Maybe you could check it out and give me your thoughts. 🤔😁👍

X2! 17% protein is already on the lower end of okay, and mixing it with scratch is a bad idea. They will pick out the yummy stuff and eat less of their balanced ration.
Are you checking the mill date on each bag of the layer feed? Should be fed within two months of milling if at all possible. I'm not sure what makes this feed 'premium' except for the marketing/ advertising.
