Pigeons and crows usually go into my chicken run to eat the chicken feed however i was walking to go close the coop door at night and a pigeon starts going crazy trying to get out so i go back out and wait, but its just not getting out so i finally go in and its on the floor and it does not fly away not even when i touch it or pat its head and not even when i pick it up. After seeing if it was hurt or not i let the pigeon/ dove go fly but it doesnt fly so i kinda throw it ( not harshly) and it ends of flying away this was a precious moment for me but what is the reason for this wild bird to be so tame?

May have just been stunned or something. Quite a few years ago I found a parakeet sitting on the roost next to one of my roosters. He stayed for 2 days then disappeared. He just sat there only a few inches away from him. He jumped down to eat right alongside the rooster. Strangest thing ever.

That is cool! I hope it is okay. I bet whoever owned the parakeet was worried. You are right. Might have been stunned.

That was probably a tamed parakeet ( domestic) it probably ended up dying. But yeh i guess the pigeon was too afraid to move

I’m sure it was a tame parakeet since it didn’t seem too alarmed with me feeding him. Whether it died or not I have no idea.
