This is a picture of my 1 week old Silver Cuckoo Maran chick. She is, for lack of a better word, down in the hocks. She walks on her feet and her hocks, and does pretty well. She uses her wings to balance herself, can walk but doesn't run. She eats and drinks well. Has anyone ever had this problem, and if so, is there any 'fix'? Thanks so much in advance.

Second - I have not had this problem yet, but if it was me I would give the chick some Poly vi sol vitamins (without iron), a couple drops dribbled along the chicks beak. Will not hurt the chick and could help.

Maybe someone with more experience will see and be able to help.

I would strongly recommend starting 'Physical Therapy' techniques listed on webpage linked in my sig below.
Also, I'm thinking the chick's problem may match the symptoms of Rickets. I don't know how to treat but 'Search' may bring up helpful info.
Best wishes! Please keep letting us know how your chick is doing.

Thank you so much everyone for answering. I don't know what her problem was that she had the past few days, but when I woke up this morning, she is standing upright, not perfectly upright, but more so than the past few days. She is walking much better, still using her wings a little for balance, but more upright and not on her hocks. I am going to wait another day or two before I do anything to see what happens. I will keep everyone updated!

PS...I didn't hatch her, I got her and her brooder mates from My Pet Chicken
