Down to one egg

i have a broody hen that I put 4 eggs under on June 22. She is down to one. The first two there was no evidence of them when I realized they were gone
This third one I found pieces of the shell in her area. Why would she be pecking the eggs open or would she?
And now what should I do to preserve the last one. It is due to hatch next weekend

I wouldn’t do anything , a single chick will have to be given away or you’ll have to find some day olds.....not a fun situation you’re in I’m sorry for your loss

Why would I have to give her away or find day olds. Won’t it be ok with mom?
