Does anyone know if it is possible for me to cut the legs down to size on the director's chairs?
We got two freecycled directors chairs that are TALL about 30 inch seat level and wanted to get down at least 15 to 18 inches seat level from ground.
Can we just cut the legs off on bottom? I know we will have to replace the canvas and the seat might be a little wider. If we unaltered the legs, it would look too tipsy and will not be a very good idea for me who will be wearing a hooped dress and the chair tips over upon contact and the chair will be like a tree!
I know the metal brackets near the joint will have to be longer.
It was painted white and i will paint it with very dark color like cherry wood color and not sure if I want to strip it. We are trying to make it like the Civil War era period.
So what do you think?
