I have 6 chicks and they are about 9 days old. I started them out in a clear plastic bin (18" x 32"), which is kept in my family room. I decided to put them in a bigger container because one of my chicks seemed to be a bully, and I thought that maybe they just needed more space. I made a bigger bin out of cardboard boxes and this one is 22" x 43". The chicks seem to love the bigger size, and it did seem to cut down on the bullying somewhat. My problem is though, that I can't see into the box (because it's cardboard) unless I'm standing over it, and I really enjoyed watching "chicken tv" while sitting in my family room. I'm considering cutting a "window" into the side of the box and covering it with wire. Will this create a draft? I've heard drafts are bad for chicks. Any advice would be appreciated.
