Dragonflygardens

HI... and thank you and all the others that have welcomed me... Im new at this so I, not really sure where I should post this up date on Jazmine...so I jope this reached out to all who have followed this little saga:

It really saddens me to say that Jaz passed away this morning....
It seems she was healing although I did notice a lump on her breast and so, perhaps.

She had a wonderful day yesterday....she ventured out onto the little deck by her kennel and looked out to the grass where she had roamed so freely. I called Patsy...her coop mate who grew up with her...and after a little coaxing she too, jumped on the deck and they kind of just looked at each other with an occasional clucking. I carried her on onto the grass and she slowly walked around a bit .... then squatted so I knew she tired herself out.

I like to think she was saying goodbye to the familiar where she had spent so many carefree days. I like to think that she somehow knew she wouldn't be grazing here again or see her feather friends. I like to think that she understood my telling her how they all missed seeing her flutter through the yard these past few days . I like to think she knew how much I loved hearing her clucking and running toward me when I called her!

Yes, I am not new to the loss of one of my garden friends in the 20 years. Life is hard in that way and an almost given part of raising animals. But, each one that I have bred here and raised here hold a special place in my heart....and each loss is felt with a tender grief and fond memories of the time we did spend.

Jazzy now rests with fellow barnyard friends.
