Drain site on hen still leaking, she wants out

I appreciate the advice, but the hen passed away. She was not able to empty her crop, or digest food. The only thing passing through her system was water. I did my very best with the knowledge I had. Sadly, there was nothing that could be done. Draining the fluid from her abdomen made her feel a little better. She was able to be outside, and do some chicken things before passing.

So sorry for your loss.

Sadly this condition is almost always terminal. Some die within days after draining, some might last a year, but those are few and far in between.

So sorry for your loss.  Sadly this condition is almost always terminal. Some die within days after draining, some might last a year, but those are few and far in between.

I knew, and was sad, that I wasn't going to be able to save her. But I was grateful that I could find the information to dowjat I needed to help make her more comfortable and feel more herself before she died.
