Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
Does this look like a start of a male feather curl they are about 7 weeks old now

Yes it does, but sometimes females will get feathers like that until they go into their full molt at about 9 weeks. If its still there then its a boy.
