Well that sure wasn't any good. Hope you kept them separated! Also the same male would get jealous of a rooster's tail, and try and pull it out, because the best he had was a curl. The drakes I had alway wanted to mate with a chicken hen.

I had this problem and lost a few juvenile pullets! That’s why the ducks don’t get to freerange anymore! Also the same male would get jealous of a rooster's tail, and try and pull it out, because the best he had was a curl. The drakes I had alway wanted to mate with a chicken hen.
Interesting never had a duck bite itself hurt. The claws on the other hand have done damage when I pick them up poorly. My Leonard does this, sometimes he stops in his tracks with the clueless look but last spring he actually nipped my calf and it actually hurt. So I held him down and tapped the back of his head until he finally gave in and was being nice again. He is normally very sweet and social UNLESS he is hormonal and then he thinks he is the s**t
He bruised my calf I guess since he kind of pinched it and I was walking away from him. He hasn't done that again though.Interesting never had a duck bit itself hurt. The claws on the other hand have done damage when I pick them up poorly.
