i went out there this morning and gave him some gatorade... and when i went back to check he was gone. the hubby is out there digging a big and DEEP hole but the whole thing is very sad.

I'm glad that it sounds like you have lots of his babies. I hope there is a little drake in the bunch that looks like Daddy.

thanks Soccer Mom, especially for looking that stuff up. its so much easier to be level headed when its not your own little feathered friend...i think i was too hoppy around-y yesterday to concentrate.

he was a good ol' drake - enormous, handsome, and he gave us 23 ducklings this spring between two mommas. he was laid back and easy going - a true fixture in the barnyard and on the pond.
