I am new to ducks and my black swedish ducks are just "coming of age". Today I noticed a tail feather so at least one is a drake. They share space with some khaki campbell girls, one of which is already laying. I want eggs, not ducklings. Do I have to remove him asap? It is mid september in Pennsylvania.

Just remove the eggs every morning and you won't need to worry about ducklings. They need to be incubated for ducklings to form, so unless you incubate them, you'll just have normal eggs.

You have to decide if you want to pay to feed him or rehome him .

I have 3 khaki Campbell ducks , aren’t they the best ? So sweet and nice , my one is laying but not the others .

My pekins are so loud ! But very friendly , I hope to have lots of eggs from them

You are not dense, we’re all learning. Some people don’t want fertilized eggs , you have to decide

I would get rid of the drake and let your hens lay eggs in peace... that’s just my opinion

I like your pond set up! And yes I love my khaki campbells. One is laying (i got her separately). The other two should be soon. And apparently the Black swedish are coming of age as well so hope to see the girls laying soon too

I have to put a good word in for Drake’s they do have a purpose they can be really good to their females and most females love their drakes or that’s the way it’s been here. Just take eggs up every day just like has been said and no ducklings
