Ive had too many chickens before... when you got 20 dozen eggs in the fridge and cant get rid of em fast enough its an issue. Lol.

Ive had several breeds in the past. Im not a bantam fan. I like polish, but silkies were the worst pita I ever had, just dumb birds haha. Never cared to have any other bantams.

Barred rocks have been a favorite of mine. Nothing crazy, but just all around good birds. I really liked delewares too. I had one white leghorn in the past and now have three brown leghorn pullets coming up. Its just hard to beat a few leghorns.
Another favorite is black copper marans. My wife swore the BCM eggs with dark yolks made the best meringues for pies...

Dream flock: well Id like a hella good set up first of all. A metal building/barn, and 12 separate indoor outdoor coops built into the barn to keep breeds separate. I cant stand mix birds... just my deal. Have one coop segregated for holding or growing out roosters only. Metal/galvalized welded wire outoor runs, pretty wood indoor coops. Space to keep supplies, feed, incubator set up, concrete floors inside with a drain trough to hose out with water easily...

Im just now trying out black astralorps, never had them, but got a few pullets.

I want some olive eggers, bcm and legbar cross, thatd be doable.

Americonas, or a green egg layer.

Id like to have a rainbow of eggs. But be able to manage each breed too... I guess Im into egg production more, but it always be nice to have an empty coop for a fun bird...

Then Id do a duck coop, and maybe a pheasant coop, and pigeon coop separate from it all.

Chicken wise id like 5 to 6 hens with a rooster per coop.

Id spend a ton of money on this dang set up. Prolly a $30k set up lol. Dang metal buildings and slab are pricy.

I'm living your dream almost. We removed the tin off my 40x40 shed and converted it to wood siding because it was hot in summer and drafty in winter. I keep around 85-120 chickens. They aren't penned separately, but run in a large gorgeous flock of various breeds. I also have muscovy ducks, geese 2 donkeys and goats in the same shed. Oh and a few rabbits. I have a few separation pens.

I also have a separate flock and coop of bantams. I like my cochins, d'ccle, and bantam Easter eggers.

I also have a turkey shed and run, and a shed where I brood young birds.

I hardly ever go anywhere. I have everything I want here. :)
