Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

I would like to clean up some branches from the lawn
today. but it is such a nice day, I hate to waste it by working.
tomorrow I go see a nurse practitioner for my BP. they
have to adjust my pills to combat the low readings.
today it is OK. we cut one pill in half.
What would you do instead of working? I am logging off desk work at 12 and will be headed out to do lawn/outdoor work since the weather is amazing! Will get the pup outside and out to the property. Grilling for dinner :)

instead of work ? I can easily pull up a chair in front
of of the garage door and soak up some sun.:old
whoops,, I forgot to post this message.
well, so much for not doing anything. I took my time
and cleaned up the branches that were on the ground
under the black walnut tree. I made some firewood and
some nice chunks for lathe turning.
If I can't sell the chunks, I will donate them to the
high school where my nephew was the shop teacher.
Annie spotted squirrel number 16 in the back of my
truck. I think I will have to move part of my trap line.
she said the truck is crammed full of black walnuts.

Anjanet, you, your family and your pup will be in my thoughts today. :hugs

It was warm and sunny yesterday, but the winds were ridiculously strong -- tipping over deck chairs and trash containers. Beside one of the tipped containers was another that had filled with water (though I find that puzzling since it hasn't rained in forever) and remained upright.

I noticed something, or rather somethings, floating in the murky water. I used a broken branch (plenty of those with all the wind) to lift one out of the water. I was horrified to see that it was a bloated, dead mouse. All of them -- and there were at least half a dozen -- were bloated, dead mice. I've never come across anything like this before. A mouse suicide pact? Late Halloween prank? Disgusting, in any case.

The warm temps will begin to cool after today, so I hope I can motivate myself to get outdoor work done. Problem is, I've started reading a GREAT book that I can hardly put down.

BTW, my computer -- like all things technological -- has decided not to play nicely sometimes. It will allow me to "like" posts, but for the last couple of days, won't always allow me to respond. I sneaked up on it this morning, and so far, so good.

Thank you Barb, I am so sad! I have been up and sitting with her since 5:15 am this morning, just loving on her. She had a good day yesterday, we took her out to the woods for a bit and then we drove into town to get her a pup cup from Caribou per my youngest's request (it is a dixie cup filled with whipped cream). She will be in a better place this afternoon around 3:30 and chasing rabbits with her brother, who we put down 2 years ago almost to the date. :hit

Big hugs. I know how hard it is. I'm still trying to deal with mine here. It never gets easier to lose them.

My most heartfelt condolences to you, Anjanet, and your family.

I mourn the loss of every one of my critters, but aside from one little orphaned goat who lived out his entire life with me, saying good bye to my dogs has already been the hardest.
They become such an integral part of our lives; their loss leaves such large holes in our hearts and homes.

It's true that time heals some hurts, but it does so very, very slowly. Take care.
