Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

Lisa, I don't think muskrats hibernate.
twice I have caught muskrats while ice fishing.
they are kind of stupid, not really vicious.
i guess they will bite in defense.
a barn rat would have dove through that hole in the blink of an eye.
It reminded me of Winnie the pooh trying to get through his door and getting stuck.

Good to know they don't hibernate. Also means it might not go anywhere unless my husband can catch it.

Lisa, glad you identified the critter (anything has to be better than a rat!), and I hope the trap works. While I might be silly enough -- bravery has nothing to do with it -- to snag a slow-moving, slow-witted possum, I would not go after a muskrat with my hands.

Jim, I was nothing but nice to the service department manager. He slipped out for lunch after I called to say I was coming in to get my car. But, I left four typewritten pages of notes detailing my many, many interactions with his staff, dating back to Dec. 11, just trying to get one problem fixed.

He called me and apologized repeatedly. When I looked at my bill, it turns out all I paid for was parts; the labor was totally free. Guess he doesn't want me to leave another scathing review with Ford Motor Co. And, best of all, I have my car back!

Hope everyone is enjoying unseasonable "winter" weather. Today's predicted high is 48 degrees with sunshine.

Sucess, :yesss: Guess it liked apple,

Lisa, glad your mountain man caught the wild beast. hard to imagine they were trapped for their fur.
Barb, it looks like from now on you have a good place to get your car fixed.
I can picture the service manager hiding in the bathroom until you were gone. :lau
I was never a fan of tacos. I had them only from Taco Bell . However, Annie picked up some preseaseoned taco meat and some soft taco shells as big as a dinner plate. we assembled our own. added cream cheese, FRESH lettuce, and hot salsa. first time in my life that I looked forward to eating another taco.
It did not get up to 4oF here. now it won't for a few weeks.
today is groundhog's day. I can never remember what happens if he sees his shadow.
all I know about groundhogs is that they can do a job on a soybean field..

the groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter
funny how that coincides with the calander
we are thinking of making some taco meat.
also want to try gyros . had gyros at Arby's.
not too bad, but I think we can do as well if not better.
we got a couple of inches of snow. GS just came home from work. said the roads are slippery.

I guess these days Jim the rodent is about as accurate as our weather people. The real prediction probably was because the groundhogs would come out of hibernation with an early spring. Now it gets tossed out of a hole for entertainment purposes.

I'm guessing by the arrival of a muskrat in my shed spring will come a bit earlier than our usual of the end of April. I'm guessing it will be similar to last year where we warmed up in March. That's my prediction. Seems to be the trend lately.
