Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

Pics
Your garden is looking good. Let's hope we don't get a surprise frost.
I transplanted all of the tiny tomatoes. Left them outside over night. they look fine today.
I cut all the side branches off of the cherry tree with no roots. I stuck 10 cuttings into water and 5 into soil. I hope some of them form roots.
I will take the almost rootless tree and cut it way back and stick the root into a pail of dirt. Maybe some roots will grow.
No fixit guy here for the flat tractor tire yet.

Is anybody besides me getting frustrated by this constant drizzle ?
This morning I went outside four times to try to do something anyhow. I didn't get much done. I located one of the two duck pools. I want to poke holes in the bottoms and make strawberry planters out of them.
I found a tall plastic container. I think I will poke holes in it and try potatoes.
I went out back and checked on the status of the dirt in buckets. there are about 100 buckets of dirt back there. Plus about a yard of dirt on a tarp covered with another tarp..
This is all abandoned by the people who grew CBD hemp two years ago. they harvested one crop and gave up. Couldn't sell it. Didn't plan that far ahead..
I checked the garden. It is just begging to get plowed.. I need two dry days in a row for it to dry out.
If I could drive, I would go to a tavern and stay there until bed time.

I can't stand the moisture. Feels like we are living in Alabama. Everything stinks too with this type of humidity. I'm hiding in the house with the central air on to remove the moisture. Maybe i will emerge next week when they say this weather will move away.

As far as plowing, my husband went at it and plowed up a field for no other reason except he wanted to.

I never got to do the plowing, The older kids did it. Once I got to plow up about 20 acres with a ford 8n and two bottom plow. That was fun.
Today it was raining pretty good. It has stopped now. still cloudy. I think it is supposed to clear up.
Saturday I planted two potted pear trees.
That wore me out pretty good. So I called my nephew. He came after work and planted the two bare root apple trees. I hauled rotted wood chips and we filled in the excess part of the holes. He spread it and leveled it. Then we ran a hose from the house to the perennial garden I am making. over 250 feet of hose. got the trees watered in real good.
The rain today is taking care of the wood chips. We needed the moisture in general.
My garlic is about 30 inches tall. I figured it would get maybe knee high like onions. IDK, I never planted it before.
The apple trees were in dirt in the wheelbarrow for about two weeks. I had them covered with dirt that I had mixed some Tomato Tone in. Both trees were fully blossomed when we planted them.
I cut the side branches off of the bare root cherry tree. Put 10 cuttings in water and 5 cuttings in dirt. I hope that some of will take root. What is left of the cherry tree I will plant, but I hold little hope for it to grow. It has such a poor root system. Jung is supposed to give us credit for both cherry trees.
I didn't count, but it looks like all 28 of the rhubarb we planted last fall is up and doing well.
I haven't seen any sign of the new grapes , yet.
I have 20 asparagus crowns to plant. I think I will plant them about six feet in front of the grape arbor. that will give me room for the lawn mower to get through.

That sounds like a lot of work Jim. We got lots of rain here, so weeds everywhere now. I'm still refusing to acknowledge them. :)

In the shape I am in, anything is a lot of work.
I think the rain is done for the day. I want to get the strawberries into their beds. Also have to mix up fish emulsion for the garlic and rhubarb.
I set the pot with the lemon grass outside. It seems pretty dry, but looks alive. some sun and rain should perk it up. We don't use very much of it.

What type of grapes do you plant? We are thinking of trying grapes up here but it seems you need to find a real hardy type up north here.

So, how did you all survive the storm ?
We did not get any of it here. It went to the north of us and to the south of us. All we got was a brief down pour for a few minutes. No wind.
I got half of my strawberries planted into a bed. I can't find the other bed. Maybe I threw it out. It was cracked down one side.
I have to prepare a strip of ground about 2 feet wide and 30 feet long for planting asparagus crowns.
Not going to do it today , too cold.

We got mostly rain. About 2 inches in the last few days. The storms missed us thankfully. They say lighting started the fire in Wisconsin rapids at the verso paper mill.

It is cold out. One of my dogs had knee surgery, so I will be busy with her for a while. Hoping we don't get any of that frost they are talking about. I couldn't even begin to cover stuff here.
