Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

Pics
We got mostly rain. About 2 inches in the last few days. The storms missed us thankfully. They say lighting started the fire in Wisconsin rapids at the verso paper mill.

It is cold out. One of my dogs had knee surgery, so I will be busy with her for a while. Hoping we don't get any of that frost they are talking about. I couldn't even begin to cover stuff here.
I’m worried about the frost tonight! I brought in the flowers I have in pots and some herbs in pots and going to keep my fingers crossed for everything else. Hoping my peas will hold up!

I didn't cover any plants Thursday night, but I did last night. there was frost on the car at 8 AM yet. I put some plants in a tote and into the garage. I covered the rest with containers and cups.
I hope they are all OK,
I hope the frost is over and done with until late fall.
the trees were done blossoming, so I don't think they were damaged.

I don't see any frost damage but I haven't wandered out to look at my tomatoes yet. Everything else looks fine here.

four of the tiniest tomatoes took a hit. I have duplicates of them in larger plants.
It might be too soon to say, but it looks like at least two of my cherry cuttings might be getting roots. there are leaves forming on the tips of them.
I planted the main root into a large tote. So far it is holding it's own. There are buds all up the trunk..
my asparagus crowns were starting to sprout in the refrigerator. so I took them outside and put them in pots until I can get the strip of ground ready for them.
So much to do, don't know what to do first.

Yesterday I scored two Zone 4 potted cherry trees. $25/ea.
A new place just starting up near Birnamwood, Wisc.
I started working up the asparagus bed. Had to quit to go pick up the trees. I will hit it again today. Then I have two more trees to plant.
I could sure use a handyman.

Yesterday I worked on the asparagus bed. It did not go well, the belt on the tiller kept slipping. I have to get some belt dressing.
I have to get another hose nozz;le and some tree wrap..

I managed to pick some lettuce, and water the garden boxes yesterday. That's about it here. My hip bursitis flares up if I do much bending at the waist. It makes sleeping hard. I prefer sleeping these days to gardening. :)

I put some fencing over one of my raised planters to keep out the cats, but of course they wiggled under it and smooshed some plants. I guess that better than them fertilizing them. :sick

call me a woose, but I am only watering plants and trees early in the morning. then I hide in the AC for most of the day.
The asparagus that I have in pots temporarily is sending up thin spears .
The cherry tree with no roots is holding it's own in the pot. So are the two bare root cherry trees that are in a tote.
The pear trees are looking like they would like to be in the shade. same with the two apple trees. The cherry shoots in the pots have leaves growing. Too soon to tell if they have roots forming.
The strawberries have blossoms. but the plants don't seem to be growing.
too much hot hot hot..

This is way too warm for us cold weather Wisconsinites. I will emerge from my AC when temperatures are below 80, and preferably below 70.

My lettuce is starting to bolt. We gotta eat more of it faster. Cucumbers are finally coming up, and lots of developing strawberries and blossoms.
