Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

Pics
We are between Rapids, and Marshfield. We ended up with around 4 inches of wet heavy snow. Hopefully my shrubs don't lose branches. It's supposed to melt off.

Last winter was more mild, which I think led to bigger deer around here. They have been cleaning me out of apples off my trees for the past few years, and bring in the tick diseases for my dogs.

I put in a couple of apple trees closer to the house. I'm hoping they don't just come in closer.

Our pre prepared meal from the deli was OK.
Not spectacular. I had to add butter and brown sugar and black pepper to the sweet potatoes. I did not care for the cranberry/orange relish. the stuffing was not near as good as what I make from scratch.
DD gave us a 14# turkey. I think I will make that for Christmas.. Maybe by then we will be able to have more of a crowd than just the four of us.. Otherwise we will be eating left overs for a week..

when I make stuffing I make LOTS of it. I can easily live on it for days, I eat it warmed over or cold.
I make it with seasoned pork sausage and croutons.
I used to use bread, but could never get it dry enough to suit me..
on a side note, to make good french toast, the bread should be as dry as you can get it..
I do not especially like french toast.

nice day today, going to take advantage of the warm sun to butcher the last four chickens.
I have the pellet gun out in case we have to shoot the white rooster that we can't catch.
