Dreaming of Spring Gardening in the Middle of a Wisconsin winter part 2

Glad to hear from you, Jim! I was kind of concerned that you were under an avalanche somewhere!

Lots less snow here but plenty of cold. According to TV, it's 20 degree colder than the average for this time of year. If Spring is on her way, she needs to travel a whole lot faster.

And, I second the sentiment about the chili!

Planted these yesterday 😁😁😁 my other ones still haven’t sprouted but I’m hoping the heat will help these ones.

Best place ever to germinate seeds is on the top of my aquariums. Peppers do take a while to germinate. I gotta get my tomatoes going, but so far I seem to lazy or distracted. The constant snow doesn't help to put me in the mood either.

I bought a bunch of flower seeds over the weekend to direct seed. Will start some short zinnia and marigolds. Hopefully later this week.

I think it’s been about 3 weeks for mine so I don’t have much hope at this point :hit it’s pretty cold where they are too. Hoping these do better. But not TOO well since I don’t have room or a big enough appetite for 40 pepper plants!!!! :lau :gig :lau  I’m thinking of possibly selling some if they do well enough. Even just for a buck or two would add up.

no big news from here. the town snow plow broke
off our mailbox,,,again. threw it way down in the ditch
20 feet down the road. I hooked a chain to it and
pulled it out ant took it up to the garage.
snapped the 4x4 off right at ground level.
while I was taking the chain off of the mailbox
I heard a noise out toward the road. When I went
back to the road to get the dumpsters, somebody
had tipped both of them over.
I bought 4 ea 3" casters for my saw table extension
project. 2 w/brakes..
I told you there was no big news.

Sounds like you live on a rough road Jim. Haven't had our mailbox hit on this place. Used to be all the time on the other farm. It's a pain to get one back up with frozen ground.

Got some flower started today. Nothing much, just one flat of marigolds, zinnia, dianthus, hollyhock, and delphinium. The rest will be direct seeded.
