I have a 125 gallon tank in my basement where my big goldfish spend the winter. We drain and cover the pond in the fall. It's nice to put it to bed just like all the gardens in the fall.

Your pond is lovely and I'm jealous

The previous owners of my sister's house kept fish year-round in a huge in-floor "pond" in the basement, one of several questionable building decisions. It's decked out with fake grass on the risers surrounding it. Maybe it's one of the reasons why the house sat on the market for quite a while. Carolyn certainly isn't keen on the pond. On the other hand, putting fish in it would probably be a hit with her cats.

Yesterday, I learned what it costs to treat a kitty that vomits all weekend, and none of it was pretty. Ozzie, one of the "dumped" cats, is 10 pounds of "I-don't-want-to-take-the-medicine" and since the upchucking has stopped, part of me would gladly stop giving him meds. On the other hand, as costly as the stuff is, it would be a shame to waste a single drop. No actual diagnosis, so I hope it's a one-time issue.

Today's early morning rain is set to give way to scorching heat. Midwest weather, isn't it the best?

good taco tuesday. 58F
after getting the corn plot cleaned up of all tools, it began to sprinkle. it never did rain, just sprinkled for a couple of hours.
today I am going to drag . I don't care if it is a little wet. i have a couple of weeks to keep dragging it until I plant the cover crop. I think I settled upon oats. and tillage radishes. maybe one or the other will grow. or mayby even both.?
I set the smallest box trap. something stole my half of an apple off of the picnic table. so I had just a small slice left to bait with. kind of skimpy .
beef sure is high. cattle are walking around on
$$O$$ . That's supposed to be a fat cow. lol

I'd be in heaven either way. At this point I'm mostly all dog anyways. Anyone would be so lucky to come back as one of my dogs. My husband and I are just their servants.
