Dried fruits and nuts

I don't see things like dried apricot, banana, and nuts (like what you get in a Christmas tin of mixed fruit and nuts) on the treat chart. Should I assume these aren't good for the chickens?

Nuts should not be fed to chickens as they can be poisonous. You can try feeding them the dried fruit but I don't know if they'll like it...

That was my first thought. I'll pitch them. I wouldn't blame the chickens. I don't like them either!

When I feed dried fruit I soak it first. Nuts are OK as long as they aren't rancid. They will peck them apart with their beaks. If you have a lot of nuts still in the shell you can run over them with your car tires to crack them.
