I think a majority left their brains at home or I was just lucky by having them near me.

Kids got out of school early today so I picked them because I was delivering milk to my customers.
Was parked on the main street in town and you park at a 45 degree angle. If there is a lot of cars there it is hard to see to back up. Normally people yield to the person backing up. I was slowly backing up looking behind me and here came a high school kid driving fast down the road. Luckily I saw her in time to stop. She didn't even slow down.
Looked again and saw no one so I continued to back up and over half way out here come another HS driver. He wasn't slowing down either. I was able to get out quickly and head down the road.

While in town went to a store to get some rabbit food for the kids. pulled in and this other driver is backing out. So I stop so she can get out. Good thing I didn't try to turn into the spot I was going to park in. Instead of going by me on the left she went by me on my right.

Had several other moments of what in the world are they thinking.

Told DS that they all must have left their brains at home today.

I know what you mean! I live 25 miles north of Madison (WI) and the closer I get to the city, the more ignorant the drivers seem to get. Not just kids, or women, or older folks, everyone! Around here, if you are doing the speed limit or less than 5mph over, they ride your ass or pass you and look at you like you are the problem.

I hate it when drivers to that. I always think to myself when I'm going 5-10 mph over the speed limit and someone passes me like I'm sitting still, "I bet they've never had to pay a $350 speeding ticket before", which I have.

I'm guilty of getting really mad when people get too close to me that I'll "brake check" them. When I do it though, I don't just tap my brakes, I slam them so the person almost has to go off the road to avoid hitting me. If they weren't so ******* close to me then we wouldn't have that problem!

Parking lots are bad. People do not seem to understand that they still have to follow traffic laws. Every time I drive I see at least one idiot, on a good day. Once I even had a company truck driver throw a bottle at my car. Called the company, owner said he has been having a 'bad day', sent us a $50 check. Wonder what else that guy had done because of his 'bad day'?

bad drivers are pretty common any more, you know i used to do that brake check thing untill some one did it to a friend of mine and now hes in prison for killing the guy. You never know whos packing and crazy enough to pull the trigger

Sad part here - people are ALWAYS saying it's the kids who are the bad drivers.

We have case after case after case of people who are over the age of 65 who have multiple accidents who drive into a building. One was just killed recently having done that.

People forget to use the turn signals - sorry, here it is someone who clearly not of student age. Often the over 65 group.

People turn right from the far left lane or the other way - NEVER have seen a kid do that. Or someone my age. It's ALWAYS the over 65 range.

People who drive 15 mph on 45 mph roads. Yup, over 65 people who are out taking the car on it's daily walk. It's INCREDIBLY dangerous because of the number of curves, hills and such so you come up on these pokey cars VERY quickly without seeing them. Never mind when they are doing 15 mph on the highway that's 65 mph. There, they also are ALWAYS in the right lane, and get ticked when people pass them on the left. Well, if you are going to be driving ILLEGALLY (more than 40 mph under the limit is illegal on that highway), drive in the slow lane anyways.

Want me to go on? Trust me, here, it's the over 65 group who are seriously dangerous drivers for EVERYONE else on the road. But god forbid anyone suggests that they have to pass a driving test to keep their license.

There is an older driver in town that drives a mini van. When they are backing up Look Out!
they will back so far out and then turn left and drive right by the curb, which is parking only, then suddenly pull in front of you.
they have done it to me twice and also to numerous other people.

ChickenAlgebra that driver at the store was over 50 and should have known better. the kids were the first bad drivers of the day.

Bad drivers come in every age. Now most seem to have a phone glued to their heads.

I personally think that EVERYONE should have to take a driver's test every ten years. Its a nice reminder and it would get the total idiots off the street. I don't think you should have to be tested only once in your life to operate the most dangerous piece of machinery in America. I've been driving for 30+ years, I'm pretty sure I don't remember all the stuff about where it's legal to make U-turns, how to park on a hill without a curb, etc.

I, too, think the tests should be administered far more often. Every ten years would be good for me. Age is not as inportant as training!

The best thing my father ever "did" to me- forced me to take Defensive Driving one summer. It has literally saved my life twice in my 35 years of driving everything from midget cars to large trucks on 3 continents.

ETA, cell phones, texting, any distractions? get rid of them.

And mom'sfolly? I can drive Mopac, Loop 360 and the dreaded IH35. Very carefully!
