Hi all,

I have a girl Harlequin Runner with a droopy wing. She's almost 7 months old and there is no obvious injury. She let me take a look and was calm about it; I didn't see any cuts and didn't feel any broken bones. I just noticed it this morning. This is my first flock, so I'm not sure what to do next. Any help/advice would be great.

It looks like an injury to me. Can you inspect the skin on top and under the wing? Look for bruising/discoloration, cuts, and punctures. It's hard with ducks because of their down.

I did that, but didn’t see anything. Could it be a sprain? Any advice on treatment?

The next thing you should do is compare each bone of the right wing to the same one on the left.
The wrist joint is definitely a little swollen and may have had an extra bump compared to the left wing. I didn’t feel anything sharp or dramatic. I was just out with her, and she seems to be holding it higher on her body now.

Which joint?
